Mazda 3 water pump

Today we had a 2004 Mazda 3 water pump to replace. The owners noticed a strange noise and a coolant leaking from the engine. We attended her workplace in Mudgeeraba and the problem was quickly diagnosed. The water pump internal bearing had failed. This was due to normal wear, not unexpected with the age of the car.

This Mazda 3 was the SP23 ‘sporty’ model. The water pump is easily accessible with the right tools and knowhow. We installed a new water pump along and drive belt. The cooling system was then filled with new coolant and pressure tested to confirm the repair.

This repair was easily done roadside, saving our client the hassles of towing or risks with continuing to drive to get the car to a workshop.

You can see the old and new water pumps in the main pic and also below. If your car has a strange noise or is leaking coolant call Certified Automotive today. As these faults can cause major and expensive engine damage if not fixed asap.
