Certified Automotive – Terms and Conditions

  1. Scope of Services

At Certified Automotive our professional, experienced and qualified technicians take pride in our workmanship. We provide mobile and workshop-based mechanical services, including diagnostics, repairs, logbook servicing, pre-purchase inspections, and more. Services are performed on all makes and models of vehicles, from passenger cars to light commercial vehicles.

  1. Service Authorisation

Work will commence only upon receiving explicit written or verbal consent from the customer. Any additional work beyond the initial agreement will require prior approval.

  1. Warranty Terms

Certified Automotive offers a warranty on parts and labour for a period of 6 months or 10,000 km, whichever comes first. This warranty covers:

  • Parts and fluids supplied and installed by Certified Automotive.
  • Labour performed by Certified Automotive technicians.
  • The specified vehicle.

Exclusions:

  • Misuse.
  • Wilful damage.
  • Neglect.
  • Incorrect operation.
  • Accidental damage.
  • modifications not approved by Certified Automotive.
  • Customer-supplied or second-hand parts.
  • Off-road or competition use.

Customer Responsibilities:

  • Notify Certified Automotive promptly of any issues covered under this warranty.
  • Must allow Certified Automotive the first opportunity to inspect and rectify any defects.
  • Any warranty work to be carried out is subject to approval by Certified Automotive prior to commencement and, failure to adhere to said condition(s) will negate any statutory obligation attributable to Certified Automotive in relation to this warranty.

This warranty does not affect your statutory rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

  1. Mechanic’s Lien

The customer acknowledges that Certified Automotive holds a mechanic’s lien over the vehicle to secure payment for services rendered.

  1. Payment Terms
  • Full payment is due upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Accepted payment methods include Cash, Eftpos and direct bank transfer.
  • A daily storage fee of $20 may apply if the vehicle is not collected within 5 days of service completion.
  • In the event of non-payment, Certified Automotive reserves the right to initiate debt collection proceedings, with all associated costs, including interest and legal fees, to be borne by the customer.
  1. Limitation of Liability

Certified Automotive shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages arising from any defect, fault, or failure in the services provided. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of profits, loss of use, business interruption, or any other financial or operational impact not directly caused by the immediate failure of the service rendered. The customer’s sole remedy shall be the repair or re-performance of the service, at Certified Automotive’s discretion.

  1. No Liability for Vehicles Left on Premises

Certified Automotive shall not be held liable for any loss, theft, damage, or destruction of any vehicle or its contents while on the premises or parked at the site, whether such vehicle is being serviced, stored, or left unattended. This includes, but is not limited to, damage resulting from fire, collision, vandalism, or natural events. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all personal items are removed from the vehicle and that the vehicle is adequately insured.

  1. Cancellation and Rescheduling
  • Cancellations or rescheduling must be notified at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Certified Automotive reserves the right to charge a $132 fee for cancellations made without adequate notice.
  1. Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for:

  • Providing safe, legal, and unobstructed access to the vehicle.
  • Ensuring accurate disclosure of the vehicle’s condition.
  • Removing valuables prior to service.
  • Notifying Certified Automotive of any third-party warranties or conditions relevant to the work.
  1. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, either party may refer the matter to a mediator prior to seeking legal remedy. This agreement is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

  1. Compliance with Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.
